Ice fishing getting started soon

Ice is slow in coming this winter, but it's sure to arrive eventually. When it does, thousands of hardy anglers will be heading forth with ice augers, small sleds and shanties to catch some of the year's best eating.

Lake Erie: Thin ice that stretched across Presque Isle Bay never grew thick enough for safe ice fishing before it retreated as temperatures topped 50. Mild weather resulted in good perch and burbot fishing on the bayfront and near the north and south piers.
