The full moon in May - Sunday - is historically the impetus for the biggest panfish bite of the year in our lakes and the St. Johns River. It started early this year - as has most every other kind of seasonal fish bite - because of the warm winter.

The freshwater bite is about the same as last week, following the big full moon. Some bluegill and shellcracker are still finishing up bedding activity.
